summer’s around the corner!

it’s been awhile since we have been able to update the blog so many apologizes to our loyal readers!  things have been busy around here, especially last week!  i had my tap dance recital last saturday and my ballet “beauty and the beast” on sunday so that means that we had rehearsals the week before and pictures the monday after.  i loved wearing my blue costume but i could have done without sitting still for mommy to do my hair for all these events!  it was worth it though since i had a great time being up on the big stage!  we only have a few dance classes left until summer so i’m going to enjoy it as much as i can!

 

 

  

the weather has been really pretty lately, with a few cool days from time to time.  i love being outside!  getting the mail with daddy is so much fun!  we go out on our deck a lot to ride my trike, my scooter or to blow bubbles.  mommy and i also tried to play catch yesterday since i could use some practice catching the ball.  we also made it to the tot lot after school yesterday and some of my friends were there too!       

 

 

over the past few weeks, i received packages from both sets of grandparents and they both sent me a new raincoat!  it’s a good thing we have had some rainy days lately since i LOVE to wear both of them and my new rain boots are so cute too!

fun times in georgia

we are back home from augusta and had a great time visiting with our friends and fighting the masters traffic!  i got to visit my friend kylie’s school for a day while our mommies went to the practice round and par 3 tournament at the national and i had a great day!  we also got to play outside quite a bit since the weather was warm and sunny.  there is always something fun to do or play with when we go there since my friends have such fun toys.  we got to eat out at some yummy restaurants where i ate pizza and rice and beans!  i also got to watch my new dvd’s from the easter bunny on the car ride there.  “the princess and the frog” and “up” are now on my list of favorites!      

   

baseball season is here!  i haven’t been able to watch any games, but i’m still cheering for my cubbies and sporting my cool shirts!

    

i also got a new special towel at kohl’s while we were in augusta.  it has froggy on it!  it’s especially cool since it has little pockets for me to put my hands in.

fabulous easter weekend

we had a great easter weekend here in the mountains.  the weather was absolutely perfect so we spent lots of time outside and had TWO picnic lunches!  friday’s was at the banner elk park.  we had a great time playing there together.  our favorite thing there is the “bumpy slide” which is a slide made out of rollers but it’s quite bumpy going down so that’s how we named it. 

 

saturday we had our picnic at grandfather mountain.  it’s dollar days in april for locals and whoever rides in the car with them so we all got in for the bargain price of $4!  the skies weren’t as clear as they were on friday, but we still had great views up there and enjoyed climbing on the rocks and crossing the mile high swinging bridge.  we also saw the bears and otters and the split rock.

      

    

saturday night we made eggs out of rice krispie treats and also colored easter eggs.  we enjoyed having practice egg hunts that afternoon to get us ready for the next morning.  we hid the eggs for each other on the back deck and then had the other find the eggs.  we even hid them together for our daddies to find them!  

sunday morning we found easter baskets and had our egg hunt.  i got some very nice things from the easter bunny and also from my grandparents in iowa who sent me easter packages.  after we had some candy and breakfast, we got dressed up all pretty for church.
