busy on the homefront

we had a fun but busy memorial day weekend. mommy and i started it off with another trip to tweetsie on friday. i had a blast, but mommy's a little concerned she might get tired of that place really soon this summer since we have already been there three times and they just opened may 1st. we were supposed to have company from georgia over the long weekend but they weren't able to come since the twin babies were sick, and they are still recovering. we were sad that our friends couldn't make it, but daddy and mommy got quite a bit accomplished at the house over the weekend. they are trying to get it on the market by june 1st, and that's looking like it might actually happen! i have been trying my best to be a good girl while they work.

on saturday morning, mommy set up my table and chairs on the deck with my coloring books and i sat there and entertained myself for a while so she could hammer in some pesky nails on the deck. then mommy made my lunch and i got to eat it on the deck like a picnic. she could see me just fine through the window so she could watch me eat lunch while she unloaded the dishwasher from the kitchen! i thought it was so cool to talk to her through the window! my friend dixie came over that evening and we ate outside again for dinner. my folding table and chairs are the best!

today mommy took me to smartcuts and i got a much needed haircut. she took about an inch off and it just looks much healthier. hopefully it will grow thicker now so my pigtails will have lots more hair!
after the haircut, we ventured out to dixie's for lunch and a paint fest! we got to wear some big t-shirts and paint some pretty pictures together!

school's out for summer

monday was my last day of first morning out until the fall. one of the boys in my class had a family picnic in his backyard to celebrate. he had many things to play with at his place, including a swingset, many playhouses and a trampoline. i loved jumping in there, but it got a little hard to jump at times when there were more than just two people.

i really enjoyed the swingset and tried out all the different swings. i even tried the big girl swing for the first time and one of my teachers ms bess helped teach me how to pump my legs so that i could swing all by myself without someone pushing me. she put her hands out in front of me and told me to touch them with my feet, and it worked! i didn't go very high, but i didn't mind since i was just learning how to use it.

next year, the kids who were in my class will advance to the 3-year-old class and i will still be in the two's since my birthday just misses the cut-off. i hope they will remember me and still say "hi" in the hallway even though they will be in a different class than me. i am happy that ms norman will be my teacher again next year. she has been with the program since it started 16 years ago and she loves working with 2-year-olds, which is great for me!

friday mommy and i were able to spend another morning at tweetsie. it was crowded since it was field trip day for many schools in many counties from this side of the state. i did get to meet up with my friend lilybaye and we had a great time riding the rides and watching the show together.

yesterday was my mommy's birthday

a lovely mother's day

we had a wonderful mother's day over the weekend! i spent the whole day with my mommy and daddy doing many fun things!

at breakfast, i gave mommy her mother's day card and a gift card for a nice massage. then we went to church and stopped at daddy's work on the way back and i got to feed the huge fishies they have in their pond.

that afternoon, we went to my friend dixie's house for some fun with friends and some yummy food. daddy played horseshoes outside with the guys and i loved watching them! i also mowed the lawn and their gravel driveway for them while i was there.

here i am wishing grandma a happy mother's day! i am such a pro at talking on the phone!

CHOO CHOO!

we went to tweetsie this morning and it was lots of fun! mommy didn't tell me we were going there until about 5 minutes before we left the house so i was quite surprised. the weather was really nice, mostly sunny and a nice breeze with temps around 70. we rode a couple of rides this time that i have never been on before. we did the tilt-a-whirl, which was fun because we got into one that didn't spin around too much until the very end. we also did the tweetsie twister, which we were told doesn't go as fast as it looks, but it went pretty fast. i still enjoyed it since mommy was right there with me. of course, i had a blast riding the train and doing all the other usual stuff. we didn't feed the goats or the deer this time, but we have the entire summer ahead of us!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRANDPA!

it sure has been quite a rainy two weeks! today it was supposed to rain later in the afternoon, but it started around 10am. mommy was going to take me to tweetsie this morning but we'll have to put that on hold until it dries up out there. tweetsie opened up for the season last weekend, but we didn't get to go since we were in augusta. they are only open fri-sun until memorial day weekend, so we only have limited days that we can go right now. so instead of riding my favorite train, we are having a relaxing morning at home. mommy put my hair in pigtails today and i'm also wearing my cool flip flops around the house!

yesterday was the only sunny day we have seen in awhile so we enjoyed being outside! i played golf and rode my tricycle a little bit and also hung out with my pookies.

our weekend in GA

we had a nice trip to augusta this past weekend! i enjoyed spending time with my friends colby, kylie and brennan. i was even somewhat interested in the twin baby girls this time! they are five months old already and they smiled at me!
we stayed at colby and kylie's house while we were in town so we got to play a lot in their cul-de-sac. it was quite fun since they have lots of riding toys and outdoor toys for all of us to play with. the neighbor kids came over to play with us too so there was never a dull moment. colby has a hummer that really drives and i loved riding it, but i wasn't a very good driver. i didn't like to put my foot on the gas peddle, so when i was in the driver's seat, kylie was next to me and she put her foot on the peddle to make us go. i didn't steer it very well either so we always ran into the curb when i was driving!
