HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

we have done a lot so far this year to celebrate valentine's day, which is surprising since my parents believe that it's pretty much a bogus, made-up holiday so hallmark and all the flower shops can make some big money. but silly beliefs aside, i have really enjoyed all the LOVE that has been going around! i got a package in the mail from each set of grandparents!

grandma and grandpa sent me lot of fun stuff, including an elmo love book, a valentine's coinpurse, stickers, a little rolling pin for my kitchen, an elmo fridge pad, and some valentine's day pretties for my hair! grandpa even made a special elmo card on the computer for me!

mimaw and papaw sent me some pretty carter's clothes for next winter, elmo bibs, candy hearts, chocolate marshmallows, heart pencils, heart cups, and a candy dish with kisses!

today mommy and i made some heart-shaped cookies together! i even got to wear my own special apron with a pony on it! i did such a great job helping by rolling out the dough and cutting the shapes with the cookies cutters. the part i hated was waiting for the cookies to bake! i really wanted to eat one right away, so waiting for them to bake and then cool was torture! but once i got to eat a cookie, it was all worth it! i can't wait to make cookies again with mommy!

caught some spring fever

this past weekend was the second one in a row we have had visitors here in the mountains. my friends mackenzie and anthony and their mommy tracie came to visit and we sure had a great time. our daddies were in new orleans at the same conferernce all week and our mommies were quite worn out this weekend, but we tried our best to be good kids and had lots of fun playing.

yesterday was a great day with temps reaching around 60 degrees and with no wind! it was a perfect day to spend at the tot lot! we were there for over two hours and it sure was wonderful to breathe in some fresh air! lots of kids were there with their mommies and some daddies too. i even got to have a picnic lunch there, which is usually what we do in the summer time. i'm ready to be able to play outside again on a regular basis, but i'm sure that this recent warm weather is just a teaser and we'll probably get some more cold and snow next week. (sorry no pictures from the park...mommy left her camera at home)

my doggies fascinate me more each day and i've really become good friends with them. i love to talk to them (and sometimes yell at them when they bark too much). morgie and i had quite an interesting conversation the other day.

mommy put my hair in a pony tail for the first time last week. my bangs wouldn't make it back there so she had to use a barrette to help keep it out of my face, but i looked really cute!

a fun weekend with the girls

well, amy had to leave and i'm still going pee pee in the potty without her here, so that is a good thing! mommy started a sticker chart for me too and put it up on the fridge! i'm still learning to tell mommy before i got pee pee, but i have sometimes been telling her that i have to go while i'm going in my pull-up. i am learning though and i think it's fun!

our weekend with norma, amy and her baby sister kayla was fun! one of the most special things
we did together this time (besides pee pee in the potty) was singing! we sang "10 little monkies" and "twinkle twinkle" many times and our mommies thought it was quite impressive!

amy's sister kayla is just a little 7 week old baby, but i got to hold her! i loved looking at her and holding her hand and her pacifier clip! amy did a good job holding her too and that's because she's such a proud big sister!

on sunday, the temp got up to 50 degrees, so after our naptime, we went to the tot lot for a little while! i was all bundled up since it was a little chilly with the sun beginning to set, but that didn't stop me from having a fun time!

KAMRYN PEE PEE POTTY!

i went pee pee in the potty for the very first time on friday night! it was very shocking for mommy to see since i have sat on the potty soooo many times but never made any pee pee there. you should have seen the look on her face when i stood up and we looked in my potty! there was quite a lot of yellow stuff in there...not just a little trickle at all! daddy ran upstairs when he heard us so that he could also witness this momentous occasion.
my friend amy is in town for the weekend and she is almost three. she has been potty trained for awhile now and i think that watching her go in the potty like a big girl helped me to understand it a little better. after i went potty and everyone was done screaming and clapping, amy showed me how to tip it in the big potty and flush. then we took a bath and once we got our pj's on, amy and i did the "pee pee dance" for kamryn for the very first time! the dance goes like this: we hold hands and go around in a circle singing "kamryn pee pee potty" over and over and then we clap our hands! it was very exciting since i have done that dance for amy several times, but this time it was MY turn.

and to show mommy that it wasn't just an accident that i went on friday night in the potty, i did it again last night before bath and again today before naptime! mommy told amy's mommy norma that they weren't allowed to leave since they are my special potty buddies! it's fun being a big girl!
our visitors don't leave until tomorrow, so we're still having fun and getting lots more pictures. once they leave, we'll put up more stories and photos from their visit here.
