I AM FREE (translation-i am three)

i had a very wonderful 3rd birthday!  i went to school in the morning and went to the mall afterwards with my friend dixie and we got ice cream cones! 

later, i helped daddy get the steak ready for the grill.  we had a nice dinner at home, just the three of us.  once i made a happy plate (i ate everything all gone), we had birthday cake!  there was a nice big 3 candle on it and we sang the song.  i’m not sure if i made a wish, but i tried to blow the candle out and i got the job done (with a little help from daddy). 

  

then we got to open presents from family and friends who had sent them from far away.  i got lots of great things.  some of my faves are my thomas birthday train, my new kiddy sized camelbak (for drinking water), mickey mouse dvd’s, a book that plays music, some melissa and doug wooden toys, warm and fuzzy crocs, a cubbies shirt with red sparkles and some savings bonds, which mommy says i will appreciate some day.  i would like to thank all you gift-senders for making my birthday so special! 

  

i received lots of phone calls throughout the day and i really thought i was cool answering the phone when it rang!  even though lots of our friends and family are far away, it’s still special to hear your voices singing happy birthday on the phone!

 

i also got to talk on the computer with my friend amy through skype.  she and her mommy sang the birthday song twice for me and i told her about my day! 

i had such a great day that i told daddy before bed that i was going to be 4 tomorrow.  daddy just laughed at me and told me “no, you’re not.  you are growing up too fast as it is.  you will stay 3 for awhile.”  this next year will fly for mommy and daddy, but for me, my next birthday cannot come soon enough!

two more days…

this week i had a major milestone in my life!  i went to the doctor for a “sick” visit for the first time!  on monday afternoon, i told mommy that my ear hurt and i was holding it.  i never ran a fever, but i had a runny nose off and on for the past couple weeks.  turns out i had an ear infection so i have been taking my pink medicine since tuesday.  the doctor was very surprised and happy to hear that this was my first sick visit and i was just a week away from my 3rd birthday!  i wasn’t scared at all when she did a short check-up and i even asked her if i could still go to school that day!  she said it was ok as long as i was feeling up to it.  i got a special princess sticker on the way out of the office, we went to walgreen’s to get my medicine and mommy took me to school!  my ear is feeling much better!

mommy and i went to tweetsie on friday and it was a great surprise for me since she didn’t tell me we were going there until minutes before we left the house!  we hadn’t been there in quite a while since we have been so busy lately and they are only open on weekends now that fall has arrived.  my friend dixie met us out there as well.  i volunteered to help hammer the nails in the railroad during the hopper and porter show.  we hammered to my favorite song “working on the railroad” and i did a great job up there on stage!

     

we were very excited about the hawks big win last night!  i had to go to bed before the game started, but mommy and daddy told me the good news when they got me up this morning!  i still had my iowa tattoo on my hand for good luck!  they also found me having a little party in my bed with several of my stuffed animals!

my birthday is only two days away and OH BOY am i excited!!!  we are having a steak dinner on tuesday with just our family and i will also open gifts from family.  some friends are coming over for a cookout/birthday party on saturday so i get to have two small celebrations for turning the big THREE!

 

IT’S GAMEDAY!

we are ready for another football saturday!  i have a hawkeye tattoo, my cheerleader outfit and my black and gold dogs!  let’s go hawks!

it’s already friday and i still haven’t posted about what a fun time we had last weekend!  saturday was the iowa/isu game and we watched it on tv at our house!  we were all so excited to see the hawks play since we don’t get all the games on tv.  even our black and gold doggies were ready for gameday!  mommy and i both got hawkeye tattoos on our cheeks and i got one on my hand as well.  i have learned to get excited for saturdays since that is the day i get a tattoo! 

after the hawks claimed victory, we went over to our friends house for some more football and dinner.  lily baye and i had a great time playing in her big playroom.  her baby sister madden also wanted to join us.  we played games, did some dancing and also watched “cars” at the end of the night to wind down.

 

this week has been good!  school was very fun, as always!  there is a different theme in my room every couple weeks.  the first theme our teachers did this year was nursery rhymes.  all the books on the bookshelf were about certain nursery rhymes and all the art projects we did were about things we read about in those books.  we made an itsy bitsy spider with a water spout and a hickory dickory dock clock with a mouse.  the new theme this week at school is trains!  i LOVE trains, so i was especially happy about that!  they have all train books out and there is one that is about TWEETSIE!  that is my favorite book!

today’s number of the day is nine, in case you didn’t already know that!  september is here, the ninth month, and i’m very ready for my birthday, which i’m learning will be on sept 29th.  we are going to look at the calendar everyday from now until then so we can see my birthday get closer and closer.

this past weekend we had our friends the huff’s in town from augusta.  the entire family was able to come this time so it was a full house here!  brennan and i played a lot with my toys and we also went to the park with our mommies and the twins blythe and brianna.  our daddies played golf one afternoon and our mommies also got to escape the next afternoon for a couple of hours to shop.  we ate lots of yummy food, including chick-fil-a on labor day.  we had lunch there right before our friends had to head back down the mountain.  we got free chicken sandwiches and also had our yummy ice cream cones!

  

    

 

 

this past week mommy and i went to a playdate at the park.  it was a true fall day…brisk but it felt great!

mommy also painted my fingers and toes GREEN last week since i had been asking her for days.  i don’t know why i picked the color green, but luckily we found that color at the store and i have gotten lots of compliments from my friends on the pretty color!
