what a month...and it's not over yet!

january has been a very busy month for our family. we have done a lot of traveling and our schedule has been keeping us from updating the blog in quite awhile. mommy had lots of pictures on her camera that she had to get downloaded and we also had a setback with a pipe bursting in our basement during a super cold spell here in the mountains. that also affected how much time mommy could get on the computer since it's down in the basement.

traveling was fun this month! we went to pinehurst a few weekends ago to celebrate my friend mackenzie's second birthday. she had a fun dora the explorer party with mexican food and yummy cake! i had a great time playing with kenzie and her older brother anthony, who is almost 4. i got to jump on their big trampoline with them and we also went to the park and played since the weather was fairly mild. they also have lots of fun toys in their huge basement so i wasn't bored for one second and i actually slept during naptime since i was so worn out from all the activities!

from pinehurst, we drove up to holly springs to visit my good friend amy. she has a new sister named kayla who was just turning a month old while we were there. i didn't know what to think of kayla, but amy and i had a fun time playing and being silly! our mommies took us to this big indoor play place called planet child where there was lots of different themed areas for us to play in. there was an aquarium area with fish, which i loved since i have my own fishies! there was also a safari area, a big boat, a kitchen, a market, a pet place, a school, a train set and a princess castle. my favorite part was the school since it had a huge chalkboard where i could draw. i tried to draw my very own elmo and mommy could definitely tell that he was supposed to be elmo! another fun thing amy and i did was sit and have conversations with each other and giggle lots and lots! we liked to share her purses and her baby stroller too.
after returning from that trip, we packed up for augusta the following weekend. brennan's twin baby sisters got baptized and mommy and daddy were godparents. i was a good girl during the baptism mass. brennan's grandmommy sat with me and brennan since my parents had to sit up front the whole time. i enjoyed playing with my friends brennan, colby and kylie while we were in town.


some other things i have done this month are play in the snow with my doggies! i learned how to make snowballs, but didn't quite get how they could fall apart just as easily. my crazy dog morgie thought it was fun to eat the snow...she's so silly!

of course, i love my kitchen! i'm becoming quite the cook, and i love to serve the green and red peppers in cups to mommy and daddy. my kitchen has been moved upstairs to the dining room for the time being while our basement is yet again undergoing construction.

i also love my playdoh set i got for christmas from my cousins. the rolling pin is great and i use the cookie cutters too! i am ready to help mommy make cutout cookies now!

another favorite toy is my new bitty baby that i got for christmas from grandma and grandpa. i am getting pretty good at changing her diaper!

i've seen my friend dixie quite a bit this month. she and i love to play and be silly together. here we are holding hands!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

we had a fun end to 2008! on new year's eve, mommy and daddy took me to outback for dinner with our friends emily, graham and dixie and it was very yummy! i was such a good girl at dinner and got to color and drink lots of milk.


then we went home and i got to play a little more and feed my fish! they are so cool! their aquarium is on my dresser in my bedroom so i get to see them every morning when i wake up and i get to feed them twice a day! they are fun to watch because they swim all around.

i also got to feed my piggy bank! daddy always saves his coins and gives them to me so i can make sure my piggy stays full! i am such a good girl too because i will share the coins and let mommy and daddy help me feed piggy too. after i feed him, i give him a kiss on the nose and daddy puts him back up on my shelf.

holiday wrap-up

well, it's been awhile since we've posted since the holidays were quite busy! i got to spend two whole weeks up in iowa with my grandparents and i had such a wonderful time! we played a lot and ate lots of yummy food, especially cookies, since it was christmastime! santa also left gifts for me at both grandparents houses so he didn't forget that i was going to be in iowa this year!

i would really like to thank everyone up in iowa for all the fun times and gifts that they shared with me this christmas, especially grandma and grandpa lavelle and mimaw and papaw metz for taking care of me while mommy and daddy went to jamaica before christmas. we sure had fun, and i really loved being spoiled! here are some fun pictures from our road trip to chilly iowa!

it's almost christmas!

well, i'm drinking my milk from a big girl cup now at mealtime. i am pretty good at using two hands and drinking it nice and slow. i have a few spills from time to time and sometimes i forget that it doesn't have a lid like my sippee cups and i shake the cup and get milk everywhere, but it's ok. i have my mommy and my doggies to clean up after me! i'm really becoming a big girl and like to do things on my own. just call me little miss independent!

i have gotten myself in the christmas spirit these days! i have an elmo christmas dvd and i absolutely LOVE to watch it. there are lots of fun christmas songs on there and i can sing along with all of them!

my friend dixie came over for lunch yesterday and we got to play and exchange christmas gifts! she got me lots of cute things, but i'm dying to try out the bathtub paints she gave me! they are three colors: red with an elmo label, blue with a cookie monster label and yellow with a big bird label! i already make a big enough mess at bathtime without the paints, so mommy is a little skeptical to let me try them out until we get back from iowa.

back home for now...

we have returned from quite a busy five days of traveling, and i must say that i'm happy to be home. i sure had fun, but it was exhausting and i need to rest up in my own bed for a few days before we hit the road again for iowa.

we left wednesday for augusta to meet brennan's new baby twin sisters blythe and brianna. they were very little babies and slept all the time while i was there so i really didn't pay too much attention to them. but i loved playing with my buddy brennan and his toys. the weather was also really mild on thursday afternoon so we played outside in his yard before the sun went down. i also got to play for a little bit with my friends colby and kylie. hopefully next time we will be able to stay a little longer so we can have lots more fun together.

on friday, we got back in the car and drove to holly springs, nc to see my friend amy. her mommy is pregnant and due on friday, so we were hoping she would go into labor so we could meet amy's new brother or sister while we were there. unfortunately, norma is still miserably pregnant so we'll have to wait till january when we go back to visit to meet the new baby. i still had a super time with amy! we had some sharing issues, but we worked it out and amy put me in my place a few times by telling me "not nice" when i did something not nice to her!

on saturday, amy was invited to three different christmas parties and we actually made it to all 3 since they were at different times of the day. amy and i made some holiday crafts like a candy cane out of beads and a frame to put our santa picture in. i got to see santa at all three parties...he probably thought that we were stalking him or something! i wasn't even scared of him this year. i went right up to him and sat on his lap and he gave me a candy cane each time. mommy let me have a little bit of the first candy cane i got, but she took the other ones and hid them from me while i wasn't paying attention. she can be sneaky, but i have a really good memory so i kept asking for them! i also got to eat lots of cookies. mommy brushed my teeth for a really long time on saturday night!

amy and i exchanged our christmas gifts early since we were together. i was so excited to open gifts! she got me this cool travel coloring book with jumbo crayons. she also got me some two rolls of duck tape! one roll is hot pink and the other is purple! amy and her parents think it's really funny that my mommy has to duck tape my diaper when i go to bed so that i don't take it off. i guess they thought that if i had to wear the tape, i might as well have some color options to choose from!

i love bubbles!

well, my mommy accidentally bought baby bath instead of baby wash when she was out shopping. she just realized her mistake so the past few nights, i have been enjoying bubble baths! they are so much more fun than regular baths!
i couldn't figure out why mommy waited so long to put those bubbles in there. i guess a long time ago when i stayed with a friend we had bubbles in our bath, but i got a little rash from them. that's probably why mommy held off on them, but i guess my skin isn't as sensitive as it used to be!
i'm glad that she wasn't paying much attention at the store because now i am a bubble bath fanatic! my cheeseball smile sure shows off how happy i am, doesn't it?!

fun black friday

today was a nice day! we slept in just a little and went out to breakfast! that is something that we hardly ever do since someone always makes me a yummy breakfast at home! but today mommy, daddy and i had bagels and then walked around the mall for a bit. daddy had to head over to work for a bit after that, so mommy and i went to lowe's and picked up a few things. i was such a crabby shopper in lowe's, but we survived and i got to take a good nap today. when i woke up from that nap, there were christmas decorations and lights downstairs!


my little people nativity was also on display on the fireplace hearth. mommy explained why it was there but i didn't listen too well. maybe by the time christmas gets here, i will understand why baby jesus isn't in the nativity just yet. he will be there on christmas day though!

daddy and i had fun dancing in the kitchen tonight before dinner. i was playing my fridge dj (which has all my fave's, including "take me out to the ball game") and we were spinning around and around. i even got a little dizzy and almost fell on my bootie a few times.
