yesterday: 70 degrees. right now: snow!

april is here!  that means the cubbies are back and so is the masters!  i sported my sparkly cubs shirt on opening day, even though it was quite cold here and i had to wear a turtleneck underneath!  warmer weather is on the way though, especially down in augusta, which is where we are headed today after school.  daddy is already down there working for the masters and mommy will get to go to the par 3 tomorrow with her friends while i play with some of my friends!  we have capris, shorts, crocs and flip flops packed since the weather will reach the high 80s by the weekend!

we have been getting ready to plant a garden in our yard!  daddy has started several veggies by seed and they are growing inside pots in our house until next month when we will plant them in the ground.  i love to look at the plants and help daddy take care of them.  i also have a special little flower pot in my room that i started from seed.  it is so neat to watch it grow! 

saturday we went to the Y for an underwater easter egg hunt at the pool!  it was very fun, but crazy because there were so many kids there.  i took home three easter eggs and a little rubber ducky with bunny ears.  i played in the water for quite awhile and had a great time because there were several of my friends there too!

   

sunday mommy and i washed lightning mcqueen (mommy’s car) in the driveway.  the weather was about 60 degrees and we got soaked, but i had a great time and was quite helpful!

afterwards i was playing with my safety scissors and decided to cut about three inches off the end of my half pony tail.  i didn’t tell mommy, but knew i should not have done that.  i hid my scissors and threw the hair in the trash hoping she wouldn’t notice.  she did notice though and i got in trouble.  i learned an important lesson though and will not get to touch my scissors for a little while.  we went to boone yesterday and i got a shorter haircut to even it out and my hair looks really cute now.  i have a perfect haircut just in time for the warmer weather!

    

today’s my half birthday!

march has passed by in a whirlwind, it seems!  i have been busy with playdates, school and dance.  the weather has been iffy, but we get out on the days that are decent.  this past week feels more like winter, but we will be in georgia next week so i am sure we will be able to play outside down there!   

we had something exciting happen in our house this month: we got new furniture!  i had a castle made of cardboard set up in one of the rooms getting new pieces so i got to take it apart in preparation for its departure.  i was a little sad to hear that it wouldn’t be at our house anymore, but i really enjoyed talking it apart and saying goodbye.  it really was wonderful to play in during the cold winter months, but it was time to go as it was starting to fall apart.

   

i also got a new bed!  i moved from my toddler bed to a twin bed and i love it!  i think froggy likes it too!

 

we celebrated st patrick’s day this month as well.  i enjoyed making cards for family and friends and also dressing the part!  at school that day, a leprechan had been in our classroom before we got to school and made a big mess in our classroom!  he also left a goody bag for each of us and lots of good luck!

well, march arrived quite quickly for us this year!  we have welcomed warmer temps (highs have mostly been in the 40s) and haven’t seen too much snow lately!  i do love playing in the snow, but it’s also nice to be able to play outside with my bike, swingset, sandbox and sidewalk chalk!  here are some pictures of me and my friend maggie riding our bikes on the greenway and at the tot lot.    

a couple weekends ago, mommy and i took a road trip to holly springs for amy’s birthday weekend.  the weather was very warm, with highs in the 60s and even the 70s on the day we arrived.  we did get to spend time outside playing in the yard and also visited a couple different parks.      

amy had an ariel party for her birthday and she got the coolest present from her parents – a bean bag chair!

       

i also went to another birthday party this past weekend for my friend elizabeth, who turned 4, and her little sister mary kate, who turned 2.  (their real birthdays are actually a week apart, but they have a baby brother due in a few weeks so their mommy thought a joint party might be easier and more fun!)  elizabeth is in my dance class so they had the party at the dance studio.  i loved every second of it because it was just like dance class but there were also presents and cake!  

this is a busy time of year for birthdays!  i have another party tomorrow for a another friend of mine who is in my preschool class!  more cake and fun!
