spring fever already???

so far, this february has been good to us!  we have had a few snow days and i also battled a stomach bug and runny nose, but i’m better now and back at school and the temps this week have been well above freezing during the day!  we spent some time outside playing this past weekend since it was around 45 degrees.  it was great being on the swingset again and drawing on the driveway with my sidewalk chalk.  i am planning to get my bike some ride time this week as well.  mommy and i are going to holly springs for amy’s 5th birthday this weekend and the high there friday is forecasted to be 74 degrees!  now that is WARM for february!!!

 

monday was valentine’s day and i was quite busy preparing for the big day for the past few weeks.  i made my own special valentines for my friends at school.  mommy and i also made cookies.  they were shaped as hearts and lips!  i got valentines from all my classmates and many suckers and some candy hearts!  i also got a package in the mail from grandma and grandpa and mimaw and papaw with some sweet valentine wishes and treats!

   

monday was also watch day at dance class.  mommy and daddy both came into the studio to see what we have been up to in dance class these days.  i loved showing off all our moves and they enjoyed seeing all our favorite dances to special songs like the merry-go-round song and the bunny song.

our trip to iowa

it seems like it was so long ago!  we went to iowa last month for two weeks and had a late christmas celebration with my extended family up there.  it was a great trip and i enjoyed spending time with everyone and being spoiled by my grandparents, especially during the week when mommy and daddy were in jamaica!  i was very lucky to be able to stay in iowa and play!  i am asking quite often to go back, but i know that we can’t go for awhile since it is a very long drive!  hopefully when we go back in the summer it won’t be so cold!

santa claus came to our town!

we had a wonderful christmas in the mountains!  we thought about last year and the very awful ice storm we had christmas eve while we were sleeping.  we were very thankful for electricity at our house this year and good friends to spend the holiday with!

on christmas eve, we went to mass and had a nice dinner with our friend pete at our house.  i got to open one gift and i chose to open the one that pete brought with him!  he got me a nice little castle to play with!  we left milk and cookies for santa and i went to sleep to make sure that he wouldn’t pass us by.

    

i woke up the next morning and i was very excited to see that santa had indeed stopped at our house and he left me lots of nice gifts!  he brought me the things i asked for: a frog, a robe and a new camera (which broke within minutes so we will have to find me a better one this week).  i also got a leap frog tag with lots of books and i have already enjoyed reading them and doing the activities.  mommy and daddy got me a chore chart and daddy put it on the wall yesterday.  i have been doing pretty good with that.  christmas afternoon, we went to lily baye and madden’s house for christmas dinner.  the food was great and i had a super time playing with the girls and checking out all the cool things santa brought for them!

   

 

we got a cool present from grandma and grandpa for christmas…a Wii!  it is so much fun to play, even though i am still learning.  i have gotten pretty good at bowling and being an airplane pilot and i love the sword fighting!  i can knock those guys right off the pedestal!  daddy has enjoyed playing too and teaching me how to do all the different sports.  we also got super mario bros from santa so daddy has been playing that too.

 

we got over a foot of snow yesterday through today so we spent some time outside today.  daddy had a heck of a time shoveling and i enjoyed trying to walk in all that white stuff.  the doggies love it too!
