let’s play BLOG CATCH-UP!

we last left off right before daddy’s birthday.  he was on a trip to the beach for work and came home on his birthday.  mommy and i made a cake for him and got balloons and i made him a nice big sign.  he called on his way home to give mommy and i enough time to hide and SURPRISE him for his special day.  

   

a couple days later, amy came to visit me in the mountains with her mom and her grandma linda, who was visiting from iowa.  we had a nice time together playing and we watched frosty the snowman, which is one of my favorites!  we also went to blowing rock for an afternoon and had a nice lunch at mellow mushroom, shopped a little, and played at the BR park.  (we took the parkway to get there to see some of the blue ridge.  for some reason, i wasn’t very happy when we stopped for a picture, but mommy took a few anyway!)

       

we celebrated thanksgiving at our house, just the three of us.  it was quite a relaxing day and we had a wonderful turkey dinner with green bean casserole, sweet tater casserole and topped it all off with pumpkin pie that daddy and i made together.  yummy! 

the next day, colby and kylie came up for a visit with their mommy.  we had fun playing together and i took them to my favorite restaurant, rice and beans!  colby showed me how to play tic-tac-toe while we were there! 

     

can’t wait for thursday!

we have been keeping ourselves busy around here!  daddy has been working a lot getting the course ready for winter and now he is at a conference in myrtle beach until his birthday, which is only two days away!  i have been busy too!  see what i have been up to right here!

 

aunt katie came into town last saturday and we had about two inches of snow here in banner elk.  we had a fun time visiting with aunt katie and i got to show her the Y, my school, dance class and we ate at my favorite restaurant…rice and beans!  the weather also warmed up while she was here so i got to play outside.

   

this past weekend was my friend madden’s 2nd birthday and she had a party at her house.  it was lots of fun because there were lots of other kids there!  we played, ate pizza and cake and watched madden open presents.  i was so excited about the gift we got her that i brought it right to her to open first!  they also gave away football cookies as favors and had everyone’s favorite college team put on them with frosting!  guess which cookie i got???

    

i have been watching mommy do exercises with her green ball and i have become quite a pro at copying her!  that ball is pretty big for someone my size, but i manage to get the job done! 

yesterday i got a package from grandma and grandpa and it had a wonderful surprise inside…matching aprons for me and bitty baby!  i love them so much and can’t wait to make daddy’s birthday cake with bitty in our new aprons!

SNOW

today was my first day playing in the snow for the season!  yesterday the first flakes fell, but they didn’t amount to anything, but we have had snow off and on all day and finally got about an inch to stick this evening.  we went outside for about a half hour so i could make a few snowballs and a snow angel.  it was so pretty and i was cold and wet but loved every second of it!

  

halloween countdown complete!

this weekend was a good one for our family, even though we were not all together.  daddy went to alabama for some golfing and nascar and i was so happy when he got home yesterday!  he enjoyed looking at my pictures from the weekend and we hope you will too!

saturday was a big game for the hawkeyes and they played GREAT!  i only watched part of the game since i wanted to watch a movie in my room, but i sure enjoyed cheering them on!

sunday was the trunk or treat at the banner elk park.  i was one of the few kids to say “trick or treat” to every trunk i approached, since so many kids just held out their bucket and said nothing :(  i also was sure to say “thank you” to the nice people who were giving out treats.  i had fun saying “aaarrrggg” like a real pirate!  i entered the costume contest but didn’t place this year.  mommy said i probably should have been in a different category, but i didn’t mind that i didn’t get a trophy.  there’s always next year!

 

 

    

since my halloween countdown is done, i have started a new one.  actually i have three countdowns going on right now!  the closest one only has 4 days left…aunt katie will be here for a visit on saturday!  then i have a countdown for daddy’s birthday and also one for thanksgiving.  those will be easier to keep track of once katie gets here and i can cross that one off my list.  i have been told that i’m not allowed to start a christmas countdown until after we give thanks on november 25th :)
