weekend guests

this past weekend our friends brennan, blythe, brianna and megan came up from georgia to visit us in the mountains!  we had fun playing with my toys and eating!  we took a trip to boone to eat lunch at chick-fil-a on saturday and it was very crowded!  summertime has arrived here in the high country as many tourists have made their way up here!  brennan and i got to play outside saturday evening after the twins went to bed and the weather was quite nice!  we have had a lot of rain here lately so everything is turning green and flowers are blooming very nicely.

farms are FUN!

last thursday was a fun day!  in the morning, we went to a classmate’s farm for a field trip on our last day of school.  it was so much fun!  we saw cows, donkies, mules, horses and chickens.  We got to feed the chickens and pick up the eggs they had laid right out of the hay into a basket and then we got to take a dozen fresh eggs home with us!  we also rode a small horsie, threw rocks into a creek and sat in a big blue tractor!  after our fun on the farm, we had a very nice lunch together (with an ice cream cone for dessert) and played for a little while.  i sure will miss my teachers and the other kids in my class!  next year i will start going to a school in banner elk so i will meet some of the kids i will be going to school with for a long time, possibly through high school!

      

      

thursday afternoon, i went to my first swim lesson at the Y.  i had to miss on tuesday, which was the first official one, but it was ok and i did a great job!  the teacher helped me float around on my back and my tummy and kick.  i used a noodle to lie back and kick and i also blew some bubbles in the water.  i can’t wait to go back and swim some more!

   

great aunt velda was in spain earlier this month and sent me a gift when she got back.  she found me a flamenco dress that is just my size and it’s also my favorite color!  i love to wear it with my cinderella dress-up shoes and dance! 

the art of photography

today we drove to boone for my last official day of school and i got sick right when we got there so we had to come back home.  i got all clean in the shower and mommy cleaned up the carseat and her car.  i seem to be feeling better so hopefully it won’t happen again.  i am just sad that i had to miss school and also won’t be able to go to my first swim lesson tonight.

mommy hooked my camera up to the computer for the first time since i got it from santa on christmas morning.  i finally filled the card up with over 600 pictures so she downloaded them and also ended up deleting about 600 shots since they were of the ground or absolutely nothing.  there were some pretty good shots on there though and some funny ones too so we thought we would share them on the blog.   

all aboard!

today was a great day!  mommy and i went to tweetsie for the first time this season.  the first thing we did was hop on the great big #12!  we also rode all my favorite rides (well, not ALL of them but i did ride a few twice).  we had a picnic lunch, got to visit with some friends who were also there, AND watch the hopper and porter show!  i went up on stage to volunteer to hammer in the rail, but i was too late getting up there to use a hammer so i just stood there during the song and watched the others!  i didn’t mind not having a hammer…i just love being up on stage! 

    

 

  

this past week has been another busy one as we had to move over the weekend.  saturday i was a very good helper though and once we got done, we went to eat rice and beans for dinner!  it was a good way to end moving day!

we celebrated mother’s day and mommy’s birthday this week too.  i helped mommy bake and frost a chocolate cake and i also helped eat it!  i love birthdays so much, even when they aren’t mine!

monday was my last day of dance class for the school year.  i will start up again in august but i think we are looking forward to having a break from doing the drive every week.  my last day of school is next thursday and i will not be going back to first morning out next year so it will be bitter sweet to have it end.
