is it spring yet???

sorry for the delayed blog!  mommy thought she was getting over her cold and then got hit with a very painful ear infection.  after waiting out wednesday’s blizzard, we dug the car out and she got to the doctor to get some antibiotics yesterday.  her left ear is still ringing, but hopefully the worst is over.  (speaking of blizzard, here’s a few pics of the aftermath. we got about a foot of snow accompanied by 70mph winds!)     

i have been doing well this week, but i’m missing my daddy a lot.  he is in san diego (lucky duck) enjoying warmer temps and his annual superintendent’s conference.  he will return just in time for valentine’s day so i can give him a little something i made especially for him.  in addition to making valentines, i have been spending my time being a lovely princess, dancing and playing with my doggies!

   

 

we had a fun trip to iowa at the end of january!  since we couldn’t go after christmas like we had originally planned, we had a late christmas celebration with our family and friends up there.  it was so great to see everyone again and share some gifts and good food!  some of the things i got are new puzzles, books, games, baking supplies for my kitchen, a flowery camelbak, a froggy pillow and blankie, a travel doodle and a pink laptop computer.   

 

 

mimaw took me to build-a-bear for the first time as a late birthday gift.  of course, i choose to make a bear!  i really loved making him and picking out his outfit!  he wears a hawkeye t-shirt with black pants and black boots!  his name is mr. frog.  he is somehow related to froggy…we just don’t know exactly how.

 

grandma and grandpa took me to the bettendorf children’s museum one day.  they were having an interactive dance class to celebrate angelina ballerina.  i had a great time dancing with grandma while grandpa sure had a fun time snapping pictures of us!  i loved exploring the other parts of the museum so much that i didn’t want to leave!

     

the weekend after we returned from iowa, daddy left for his trip to california and mommy and i took the doggies down to georgia to visit our friends.  we had a great time playing together!  on saturday night, we had nine kids (age 6 and under) at leah’s house for dinner and playtime.  we had so much fun playing, dancing and just being silly.

we have been busy moving and settling into our rental so many apologies for the delay of the blog!  i didn’t have any trouble at all adjusting to our new place.  it has a big bed, a big tub and all my toys are here so i am doing just fine!  we are right next to daddy’s work, which is nice too!  i got to visit him and some of the people he works with this afternoon and i had a great time!

 

we haven’t been up to much lately except getting used to living in avery county and going about our regular schedule.  i’m learning that it takes a little longer to get to school and dance class or anything else we might have to do in boone.  we went to story time at our new library last wednesday and i’m sure we will try to make that a weekly event.  i’m also planning for next school year.  mommy applied for pre-k at the public school, but it’s very unlikely that i will get in since it’s mainly for 4 year olds and i will just miss the cut-off date for that.  but there is a mom’s morning out program at a church in banner elk that we are going to check out for the fall. 

i have been doing very well at night training since we moved!  i’ve only been wet once!  that means that i have been enjoying my chewies in the morning (i get a starburst for a dry pull-up and i call them chewies).  

we are looking forward to our trip to iowa!  we leave friday and mommy has been busy getting the car ready for the long drive.  it will be fun to celebrate christmas again with our family up there!

thought i would share a few pictures of our old house right before we left it for the last time.  i did very well sitting watching mickey mouse on the little dvd player while mommy and daddy cleaned the house out for the new owner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRANDMA!!!

it has been so long since we have done a blog update and just as long since mommy has downloaded pictures.  we haven’t been taking a whole lot of pictures since we have been busy packing up to move this weekend!  we sold our house and are very excited to settle into our rental house and start the building process on our land. 

CONGRATS to the iowa hawkeyes for winning the orange bowl last night and for having a very exciting and successful season!  we could not be prouder of our team!  i didn’t get to watch the game since it was past my bedtime, but mommy let me watch the highlights on sportscenter this morning.  way to go, hawks!!!

 

when i last posted, it was christmas eve so let’s take a journey back in time!  we had a nice evening starting with mass, then home for chili, pumpkin pie and egg nog (for daddy).  i got to open one present that night from mommy and daddy (some new books) and we also got baby jesus and put him in the manger of my little people nativity.  i baked some chocolate cookies for santa and left only one for him on a plate with some milk.  i was very excited to get to bed so i could wake up the next morning to see if santa had visited our house.

christmas morning i decided to sleep in!  mommy and daddy had to wake me up and i’m sure that will be the last time that will happen on christmas morning until i’m a teenager.  i will be doing the waking for several years to come!  i got lots of great gifts from santa including a fisher price computer cool school, a kiddie camera and a cash register.  i also got a tea set, a pretty sweatshirt, a clock puzzle and a tinkerbell t-shirt.

 

 

while we were sleeping on christmas eve, we had a terrible ice storm.  we lost a few tree limbs at our house but were very lucky it wasn’t worse.  our street got pretty ugly with limbs blocking the road.  we lost power and water right after we opened presents and didn’t get it back until monday.  we stayed in a hotel on friday night and got chinese take-out for dinner (fa ra ra ra raaaa) and i got to watch a mickey mouse christmas movie that was on the disney channel.

today i got to finally see santa and tell him what i would like for christmas.  dude the elf has been watching me for a few weeks now and hopefully he has been reporting to santa that i have been a good girl so that i can get what i asked for…a camera.  santa and i talked for a few minutes about things and then he gave me a candy cane!  later tonight, we are going to make some cookies in hopes that he will come down our chimney after i’m sound asleep and eat them (only after leaving me a few gifts under our tree).
