back from vacation…time to sleep!

mommy and i are back from our beach vacation and we sure had a great time!  we went to visit aunt velda down in florida.  she lives right on the beach so the location was just about perfect!  mimaw, aunt karen and uncle joey also flew in for the week so we were quite busy!  i got up early every morning and only took two naps the whole week.  my bedtime was also extended most nights so i have been catching up on sleep since we returned home last night.

the weather was a little crazy a few days while we were down there, but i made the best of it by making a pretend beach in aunt velda’s living room.  i set up the beach chairs, towels and sand toys and her area rug was my pool, which is what i called the ocean.  

in reality, we got to the beach three times and the pool once (it poured rain on us for a little bit in the pool but we thought it was still fun).  i loved being in the ocean and watching the waves, which were really high the first few days we were there due to ida spinning around in the gulf.  i liked to build sand castles with my little molds, but my favorite part was smashing them!

     

  

 

 

 

we ate out at some nice restaurants and i also had some of my favorites at aunt velda’s place…can’t live without my oatmeal!  aunt velda also had some new toys and games for me at her place.  i learned how to play candy land and also enjoyed reading my books. 

 

we did a little shopping.  the ladies called around to find out which mall around there had a disney store.  that was a really cool place with lots of my faves and needless to say, i left with my very own mickey and minnie! 

busy week so far!

dance class on monday was a special one since my mommy got to come in the studio and watch!  i was really shy in the beginning of class and didn’t do much since there were so many parents watching, but after we changed from our tap shoes to our ballet shoes, i started to open up and participate more in class.  my teacher ms. cay told mommy that sometimes we do learn more by just watching at this age.  each of us dancers got to do an individual move that we had learned.  it was four commands in a row, which ms. cay said is really good for our age.  we are practicing for our performance of the nutcracker, which all the dancers at my studio will perform in next month.  my class will be the gumdrops! 

 

 

 

today mommy and i took a tour of the fire station in boone with some other kids and moms.  it was so cool!  i got to meet some firefighters and they showed me all about their firetrucks and we got to see where they cook, sleep and watch tv.  they have really tall ladders on the trucks and the horn and sirens are really loud!  we also got a firefighters hat to take home. 

 

 

i also learned a valuable lesson about keeping my eye on froggy since he got left behind in the bathroom at the station.  when we went back to get him, the firefighters had gone to lunch.  we went to lunch and drove back by the station and luckily the nice fireman let us look for froggy and he was right in the bathroom where i had left him…thank goodness!  leaving him behind stressed me out so much that i actually fell asleep right away during naptime!

october is over???

 

Halloween was really fun!!!  on saturday, we watched the hawkeyes continue their winning streak and then went to banner elk for their trunk-or-treat!  i got to put on my cool chicken costume again and daddy made me a funny sign to wear, just like the chick-fil-a cow wears (well, maybe it was a little different)!  everyone who saw me and read the sign laughed!  i got 3rd place in the costume contest and brought home another trophy this year.  we also stopped by tammy’s house (she’s one of daddy’s co-workers) to show them my cool costume and her husband “uncle willy” sure gave me tons of candy!  we had a nice time visiting with them, especially since tammy let me blow bubbles in the house!  to make the evening even more fun, we stopped and got rice and beans for dinner on the way home!
