fall is fun!

this past week i have been enjoying all the high country has to offer for the fall season!  last saturday, the three of us ventured out to valle crucis for their punkin festival.  when we left our house, the weather was so nice, but the cold front must have gotten to us during the drive out there!  it was cold and windy and the sun had gone away!  we did stay and play a few games though!  i enjoyed bowling with little pumpkins, doing a ring toss and bobbing for apples on a string.

sunday daddy had to work since he is trying to get the golf course ready for the cold winter months.  mommy and i went to mass and after a short naptime, we headed down the road to tweetsie for a little bit while the weather was nice.  they are closing for the season this weekend and the weather is going to be questionable so that might have been our last visit until next may.

 

i have been enjoying my dance class!  i wore my new legwarmers for the first time last week and i was stylin’!  next monday is the day that our parents can watch so daddy is going to come too!  i can’t wait to show them all that we have learned!

wednesday night mommy and i went to a fall festival at a baptist church in boone.  it was a really great time with lots of activities for kids my age and many of our friends were also there.  i got to wear my chicken costume and got a special picture and made my own frame for it!  i rode a horsie, had a little bit of chili (it was too spicy for me), roasted a marshmallow and played some games. 

friday is here!

this week we had some very nice weather (up until today anyway).  i got three trips to the park in!  that is not very common this time of year! 

 

we had our pictures taken at school and i think they are going to turn out very good!  i cooperated with the lady taking the pictures and i even smiled!  we also had a class picture taken with our teachers and i didn’t feel like smiling for that one.  my friend dixie was very upset and cried during that picture.  she was just fine when the camera was put away though!  

today mommy and i went to arts and crafts time with some other kids and moms.  we made pumpkins out of construction paper and also made a black cat mask!  i also got to color and show off how creative i am with all the different colors of crayons.

 

 

 

  

a couple days ago, i started calling mommy “mama” instead.  i had already shortened her name to “mom” every once in awhile, but now i think it is so cool to call her “mama” all the time.  i guess i’m just trying out all the different names i can call her!

i am very much into playing pretend.  i love to take my froggy and babies to the beach.  when i play in the basement, the hawkeye rug in front of the door is the pool and we always have to take our shoes or slippers off before we get into the pool.  we also take trips to the park, which i have designated as the other side of the basement.  i take froggy to the potty (which is invisible) and i have also come up with silly names for many of my stuffed animals.  my imagination is growing by leaps and bounds these days!

Business is good at the “Lavelle Inn”

we have had a busy couple of weeks, but i have had a blast!  last thursday, mommy and i went down to charlotte to see the disney on ice show “celebrations” with some of our friends.  i really enjoyed the show and was very excited to see mickey and minnie.  there were many other characters there as well.  i wasn’t sure who most of them were, but i recognized all the ones from mickey mouse clubhouse and also cinderella (who’s name i pronounce cinderinda). 

     

when we got home from charlotte late that night, amy and her mommy and sister kayla had just arrived at our house for a long weekend visit!  after going right to bed, we woke up the next morning and went to chick-fil-a and got free breakfast burritos!  we didn’t eat them the traditional way you would eat a burrito.  we decided to open them up and eat all the chicken, egg and cheese that was inside!  after breakfast, we went to a grocery store called earth fare, where we made an art project out of leaves.  we also enjoyed playing outside that afternoon since the weather was in the mid-60s and the sun was shining.

 

saturday we took a short trip to the mall and walked around since the weather outside was cold and rainy.  when we got home from there, we made some halloween cookies and frosted them too!  we were very excited when we got to taste-test the cookies!  yummy!

 

 

this past weekend we had company again at our house!  anthony and mackenzie and their parents came up so the adults could all go to ghost train at tweetsie.  we stayed home with a babysitter and had a great time playing together all weekend.  the weather was near record low temps and i’m not sure that we even reached 40 for the high on saturday.  our parents enjoyed the ghost train, but they were nice and bundled up before they left!  brrrr!

the weather is supposed to be in the 60s again for a few days this week so we are planning to take advantage of that since it very well could be the last time until spring!  i got my flu shot when i went for my 3 year check-up on friday so i’m hoping that keeps me healthy through the winter.  can you believe that i am 38 inches tall and i weigh 33 lbs?  i am in the 75th percentile for both!  i was a very brave girl at the doctor and was to proud to get a sticker on the way out of the office. 

last weekend was FUN!

my 3rd birthday party with my friends was saturday and it was a perfect day for it! the weather was sunny and around 65 with minimal wind.  we could not have asked for a better day for a cookout!  we got to play outside and enjoy the fresh air.  after dinner, we had cupcakes and ice cream and opened presents.  i got some very nice things including an easel, a personalized ballerina plate, a puppet show kit, some melissa and doug toys, and a fun new ball.    

 

  

the next day after mass, we went to an autumn festival at my friend lillian’s school.  i got to ride on a pony and also a hayride.  i also got to jump in the bounce house!   

   

that evening, daddy’s work had a pizza party at the shanty (their fancy outdoor entertaining area).  it was quite chilly, but i enjoyed the yummy pizza and playing with davis (4) and jake (18 months).  they live in the same subdivision where we will be building our new house.  it sure will be so much fun when we are neighbors!!!
