my week in review

last saturday i went to my friend lillian's birthday party. she had a dance party so i got to wear my new tutu outfit! it sure was fun, but a little overwhelming for me at first since there were a lot of kids there. i am a little shy when it comes to crowds. but i let go after a while and danced and played with the hula hoop and colored on the easel. i also sang the birthday song and watched lillian blow out the candles on her cake. i can't wait until i turn three!

this past week i went to three different parks! it sure was fun, but it took me a while to get used to each park once we got there since they each have different things for me to play with. these pictures are from the banner elk park on monday, but we don't have pictures from the valle crucis park on tuesday or the tot lot on friday since mommy didn't take the camera. i have become quite the climber! i love monkey bars too, but of course i'm a little too short to do them by myself.

yesterday we had an open house in the afternoon so we packed up the doggies and went over to dixie's for a cookout and some fun in the sun! it sure was hot, but i still had a good time mowing their yard and watching daddy play horseshoes with the guys. we also went on a few wagon rides and listened to some music.

today was a super fun day! it was quite hot here so daddy got my pool out and i spent most of the day in it! it was great to be outside and i had so much fun playing with my pool toys and splashing around. my friend dixie came over later in the afternoon and swam with me for a little while. mommy and daddy had a good time testing out their new camera as well. it's waterproof and seems to work pretty good.

I LOVE IOWA!

mommy and i sure had a fun-filled week in iowa! i spent a lot of time with my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. everyone kept me busy going many different places including the naibi zoo, jungle bungle, uncle jerry's pool, chick-fil-a, whitey's and downtown davenport for the bix fest. i don't think a day passed without a bowl of ice cream and i got to eat lots of froot loops, which isn't something mommy keeps around at home! i was very sad to leave, but once we got home and i saw my daddy, i was a happy girl again. i can't wait to go back to iowa for new year's to see everyone again, even though the air will be just a little colder then ;)

our weekend happenings

since we went to saturday eve mass, we had sunday morning free to go to tweetsie! barney was there this weekend! i was pretty excited to see him at first, but after a few songs, it got old for me. i have watched barney on tv a few times, but i guess i'm a bigger kenny chesney fan than i am a barney fan. regardless, i had a fun time at tweetsie with mommy and daddy and my friends dixie and maggie and their parents! we rode some rides together and as always, had a grand ol' time!

saturday morning, we visited the watauga county farmer's market. it was a cool morning and we enjoyed walking around there. we stopped at a nearby park afterwards and i sure had some fun!

busy july so far...

it's been a busy few weeks for me here in the mountains! grandma and grandpa were here for over a week and we had a wonderful visit with them! we did lots of fun stuff together including the park, chick-fil-a (a few times), shopping, church, and rice and beans at the mexican restaurant. grandma and grandpa always seem to scope out the places where i can get a balloon...they are always looking out for me! we also played at home. i showed them what a pro i am at putting puzzles together! we also did some coloring and i showed them how to play golf with my plastic clubs out in the driveway. i was so sad when they had to leave, but mommy and i are flying to iowa on wednesday, so i will see them again really soon!
