HAPPY 4TH!

we hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of july! i sure had a great time yesterday celebrating our independence day. i was all decked out in my red, white and blue! we had a cookout at our house with hamburgers and hot dogs, potato salad, corn on the cob, fruit, pimento cheese and apple pie and ice cream! my friends dixie, lily baye, madden and maggie were here to play with me. we took turns riding my tricycle, trying to get my cheap bubble machine to work and playing golf. i also got to share my patriotic stickers with my friends and some glow sticks that we made into special bracelets. our mommies and daddies did a few sparklers as well. this was the first time ever that i have seen fireworks! we can see the ones they do at tweetsie from our deck so we all sat out there and watched them together. they were very pretty!

dry weather means outside time!

we started off this week with a nice father's day celebration at my friend dixie's house. my friend lily baye was there too so the three of us girls had a great time playing ball and taking turns pulling each other in the wagon while our daddies got to play a few games of horseshoes.

mommy and i had a nice time at the valle crucis park on tuesday. we hadn't been to that park before since it's a little further to drive than the ones in boone or blowing rock, but it's definitely worth the trip. it's a very beautiful park with a playground, walking trails and the watauga river. i really enjoyed the water even though i couldn't get in. i still had a great time splashing around!

yesterday we went to the beach! wildcat lake is in banner elk just minutes from daddy's work and where our new house will be once it gets built. we met some friends out there and had a great time playing in the sand and in the water! we spent over 3 hours out there but the time went so fast i wasn't ready to leave yet! i hope we get to go back sometime soon!

fun times last weekend

last weekend was awhile ago since it's already thursday, but i still want to tell you all about our weekend with our friends amy, kayla, norma and brian. they came to the mountains to visit and we went to tweetsie! we went friday afternoon for a few hours and did some fun rides up in the country fair section of the park. that is where the carousel is, and that's the only thing that i usually ride when we go up there. but this time, we did all the rides up there! i rode in the cars, the helicopters and the ferris wheel! norma, brian and amy did the tilt-a-whirl together while mommy and i sat and watched with kayla. i enjoyed talking to kayla and making her smile at me being silly!
the next day, we went back to tweetsie in the morning and daddy came with us this time! we rode the train, saw all the shows, fed the animals and rode all the rides! mommy and daddy even got to ride a few grown up rides since there were enough adults to take turns watching us kids.
friday night was my first real sleepover! amy set up a special place on the floor in my room and she and i got to have a slumber party! we were very good girls and went right to sleep. in the mornings when we woke up, we would whisper silly things to each other since we were told by our mommies that we had to be quiet. it was fun to be silly with amy!

i say "hey y'all and yee-haw!"

one of my favorite things to do when my daddy is home and it's not raining outside: hang out in the big red truckbed! i also love to jump from the tailgate and have daddy catch me!

i still have my moments. here i am bossing mommy around...

and here i am asking politely!

thomas rules

this week has really been all about THOMAS THE TRAIN! he has been at tweetsie all week so we went on monday and then again today. mommy did let me get something from the gift shop since i really think thomas is cool. i got a train whistle that is shaped like him! it was the cheapest thing in the store, which is why i got it, but i love it and carry it around everywhere. i also got a cool thomas tattoo on my hand! i cried when it got washed off in the bathtub monday night, but i got another one today while we were there. i guess that i'll be crying again tonight at bathtime.today during the hopper and porter show (they are a big bunny and turtle), i got up on stage for the first time! they always ask for volunteers to use these big foam hammers to help them work on the railroad. today was the first day i felt brave enough to go up there. i just held onto the hammer though. i didn't feel like hammering today, but i watched the other kids up there and since they were a little bigger than me, they sure moved that hammer around a lot! they sing and dance a lot during that show so it's no wonder that it's on my list of faves at tweetsie!

started off june at tweetsie

mommy and i went to tweetsie on monday. my friend dixie met us there too with her mommy! it was dixie's first visit to tweetsie, so i showed her all the stops like i was a tour guide! she got a season pass as well so i'm sure that we'll get to meet up there again sometime really soon!

last week mommy got some funny pictures of me dancing along with my fridge dj. i have become quite the talented dancer and i'm looking forward to going to see the funktastic five at the bix fest in july so i can show everyone in downtown davenport all my awesome moves!
