my daddy and i

i had a fun weekend with my daddy! mommy went out of town on saturday and came back sunday so daddy and i got to spend some one-on-one time together! the weather was so nice and daddy took me to his work where some of the guys met to wash their trucks. i was a little shy when we first got there, but daddy gave me some crackers and got out the pressure washer. i sure had fun with that thing! daddy let me pull the trigger and we gave his truck a BUBBLE BATH! on the way back home, daddy stopped at mcdonald's and we had lunch together. i also did very well going in the potty while mommy was away! he sure spoiled me...i got eggs two days in a row for breakfast! i love eggs!

mommy and i spent a few hours at the tot lot yesterday. it was sunny, but quite windy so it didn't seem as warm as it should have. it was still so nice to be out in the fresh air, especially since we might see some snow again later this week. we are planning to go to the tot lot again today after my "nap" so maybe mommy will remember to take the camera this time! my favorite things to do there are swing and teeter totter!

mommy and i took murphy to the doggy doctor last friday and morgan today. i was a good girl while we were there, spending a lot of time coloring. they have a green parrot there in the waiting room who talks. he said "i love you" to me while we were waiting. (actually, that's not what he said, but that's what i told mommy he said when she asked me:) both doggies are fine, just a little on the fat side so they are going on a diet. guess i won't be giving them treats for a little while now.

reading is always fun!

this is my famous whine face!

i put froggy and bunny in time out! they were being bad!

in like a lion...

we had a super first day of march! there is about 8 inches of snow outside and it's not done yet! the southeast was hammered with snow today, us especially since we are in the mountains, but it has even begun to snow in places like charlotte, where they rarely see the white stuff!

mommy and daddy came outside with me and the doggies this afternoon to play! the snow was so high that i had trouble walking in it at first, but morgan and murphy's tracks helped to clear some areas for me. daddy helped me build a snowman and i had a great time making snowballs. after about an hour out there, i was pretty wet since it was snowing the whole time. i still wasn't ready to go inside yet, but mommy persuaded me. maybe we can go back out tomorrow if it's not too brutally cold.

check me out!

yet again, we are a little late getting the blog updated! so sorry to you loyal readers! we have been quite busy but things are slowing down so that we can catch up on what we fell behind on!

if you didn't look close enough at the top picture, look again! the latest news here is that i'm sleeping in a BIG GIRL BED! on thursday i climbed out of my crib during naptime and mommy ran up to find me crying in the middle of the floor. i didn't break any bones or REALLY hurt myself, but that made mommy scared enough to go out and get me a toddler bed. it's the same color as my crib and it looks great in my room. i love sleeping in it too! i think that mommy also likes that i can climb into it myself instead of picking me up and putting me in there (i'm getting too heavy to be picked up all the time). i haven't left my room yet while i'm supposed to be sleeping, and mommy is trying to drill it in my head not to get out of the bed until someone comes up to get me. i stay there at night time, but naptime is a different story since i don't really sleep then. mommy gives me one book though since she knows that i don't do naps and that way i'm not completely bored for two hours while i rest.

last weekend was very fun and crazy here at our house. our friends from georgia came to visit. leah and her kids colby (4) and kylie (2) and megan and her kids brennan (2) and brianna and blythe (12 wk old twins) all crammed in one mini-van and made the long drive up the mountain to see us! we didn't leave the house so we always had some kind of fun activity going and we were cleaning up toys a lot! we had the great idea of putting all my little chairs in a row and making a choo choo train! everyone blew their pretend train whistle and our mommies could finally get some pictures of the four of us together. we all napped at the same time on saturday afternoon so our mommies had a chance to visit in peace and quiet for a couple hours.

i got a nice package from my great aunt velda last week! inside were two monkies, one green and one hot pink to match my room! i bonded with them right away, carrying them around like a purse or putting them around my neck. i then got a brilliant idea! i put them around my pookies' necks! they didn't seem too amused by it, especially since mommy was just laughing! but they were good sports since they really love me and they knew that i just wanted to play with them.

i really love to sing and i know so many more songs by heart now! my faves are jingle bells, wheels on the bus, itsy bitsy spider, old macdonald, and 10 silly monkies. i'm also getting better at coloring and drawing. i drew a really good face the other day on my aquadoodle. reading is a favorite of mine as well. i have memorized many of my books and i love to read them out loud.

potty training has been coming along. i went #2 in the potty for the first time last friday and i have gone about a half dozen times since. last night was the first time i told mommy i had to go pee pee in the potty before i went in my diaper! i'm still learning, but when i'm ready i think that it will be smooth sailing and no more diapers!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

we have done a lot so far this year to celebrate valentine's day, which is surprising since my parents believe that it's pretty much a bogus, made-up holiday so hallmark and all the flower shops can make some big money. but silly beliefs aside, i have really enjoyed all the LOVE that has been going around! i got a package in the mail from each set of grandparents!

grandma and grandpa sent me lot of fun stuff, including an elmo love book, a valentine's coinpurse, stickers, a little rolling pin for my kitchen, an elmo fridge pad, and some valentine's day pretties for my hair! grandpa even made a special elmo card on the computer for me!

mimaw and papaw sent me some pretty carter's clothes for next winter, elmo bibs, candy hearts, chocolate marshmallows, heart pencils, heart cups, and a candy dish with kisses!

today mommy and i made some heart-shaped cookies together! i even got to wear my own special apron with a pony on it! i did such a great job helping by rolling out the dough and cutting the shapes with the cookies cutters. the part i hated was waiting for the cookies to bake! i really wanted to eat one right away, so waiting for them to bake and then cool was torture! but once i got to eat a cookie, it was all worth it! i can't wait to make cookies again with mommy!

caught some spring fever

this past weekend was the second one in a row we have had visitors here in the mountains. my friends mackenzie and anthony and their mommy tracie came to visit and we sure had a great time. our daddies were in new orleans at the same conferernce all week and our mommies were quite worn out this weekend, but we tried our best to be good kids and had lots of fun playing.

yesterday was a great day with temps reaching around 60 degrees and with no wind! it was a perfect day to spend at the tot lot! we were there for over two hours and it sure was wonderful to breathe in some fresh air! lots of kids were there with their mommies and some daddies too. i even got to have a picnic lunch there, which is usually what we do in the summer time. i'm ready to be able to play outside again on a regular basis, but i'm sure that this recent warm weather is just a teaser and we'll probably get some more cold and snow next week. (sorry no pictures from the park...mommy left her camera at home)

my doggies fascinate me more each day and i've really become good friends with them. i love to talk to them (and sometimes yell at them when they bark too much). morgie and i had quite an interesting conversation the other day.

mommy put my hair in a pony tail for the first time last week. my bangs wouldn't make it back there so she had to use a barrette to help keep it out of my face, but i looked really cute!

a fun weekend with the girls

well, amy had to leave and i'm still going pee pee in the potty without her here, so that is a good thing! mommy started a sticker chart for me too and put it up on the fridge! i'm still learning to tell mommy before i got pee pee, but i have sometimes been telling her that i have to go while i'm going in my pull-up. i am learning though and i think it's fun!

our weekend with norma, amy and her baby sister kayla was fun! one of the most special things
we did together this time (besides pee pee in the potty) was singing! we sang "10 little monkies" and "twinkle twinkle" many times and our mommies thought it was quite impressive!

amy's sister kayla is just a little 7 week old baby, but i got to hold her! i loved looking at her and holding her hand and her pacifier clip! amy did a good job holding her too and that's because she's such a proud big sister!

on sunday, the temp got up to 50 degrees, so after our naptime, we went to the tot lot for a little while! i was all bundled up since it was a little chilly with the sun beginning to set, but that didn't stop me from having a fun time!

KAMRYN PEE PEE POTTY!

i went pee pee in the potty for the very first time on friday night! it was very shocking for mommy to see since i have sat on the potty soooo many times but never made any pee pee there. you should have seen the look on her face when i stood up and we looked in my potty! there was quite a lot of yellow stuff in there...not just a little trickle at all! daddy ran upstairs when he heard us so that he could also witness this momentous occasion.
my friend amy is in town for the weekend and she is almost three. she has been potty trained for awhile now and i think that watching her go in the potty like a big girl helped me to understand it a little better. after i went potty and everyone was done screaming and clapping, amy showed me how to tip it in the big potty and flush. then we took a bath and once we got our pj's on, amy and i did the "pee pee dance" for kamryn for the very first time! the dance goes like this: we hold hands and go around in a circle singing "kamryn pee pee potty" over and over and then we clap our hands! it was very exciting since i have done that dance for amy several times, but this time it was MY turn.

and to show mommy that it wasn't just an accident that i went on friday night in the potty, i did it again last night before bath and again today before naptime! mommy told amy's mommy norma that they weren't allowed to leave since they are my special potty buddies! it's fun being a big girl!
our visitors don't leave until tomorrow, so we're still having fun and getting lots more pictures. once they leave, we'll put up more stories and photos from their visit here.
